Update on Dalkon Shield Litigation
As you know, we at Brown & Szaller represent
personal injury victims throughout the state--and even
in other states.
Last month, lawyers at Brown & Szaller represented, in arbitration, Dalkon
Shield victims residing in Cincinnati, Cleveland, Toledo, Dayton, and fourteen
other cities in Ohio, as well as clients in the states of Washington and Oregon.
Other clients will eventually proceed to arbitration or trial as well.
The Dalkon Shield Claimants Trust still has 1.6 billion dollars available to pay
Dalkon Shield claimants who have not yet resolved their claims. Eighty percent
of the claims have been resolved for 900 million dollars, and although only 20%
of the claims remain, 1.6 billion dollars remains in the Trust.
Jury trials should begin in 1995 for Ohio residents injured by the Dalkon
Shield. It is expected that Brown & Szaller will be lead counsel for the
majority of cases going to trial in Ohio. We will keep you up to date with the
litigation as it continues.
