"Rrring,
Rrrrring,
Good Morning, Brown & Szaller"
If you have called our offices lately, chances are you've talked to me. My
name is Megan and I answer the phones here at Brown & Szaller. No, I'm not
a computer, I'm a real live person! As you know from our last Quarterly, we
now have a webpage and e-mail but we will always be committed to providing
personalized attention to you and, your family. I come from a customer service
background and believe everyone deserves respect and courtesy when calling a
place of business. I sincerely expect you to receive professional attention
when contacting our firm.
Having never worked in the legal field before, I wasn't sure what to expect.
Frankly, the profession gets a lot of negative attention. Why? I wondered.
Working for Brown and Szaller has been an enlightening experience. Sure, I can
still chuckle at the lawyer jokes, but I also know a lot of attorneys are out
there doing good things. These people work extremely hard, and sincerely care
about their clients.
Being the receptionist, I often have a chance to chat with clients who are
waiting in the lobby. Of course, we talk about the weather or the ball game
most of the time, but once in a while a client will tell me, "I don't
know what I would do without Jim (or Ken, or John). You should have seen him
in court today."
I know we are doing important work here, we are helping people and
establishing relationships.
Recently, a client asked me if working here has made me want to
become a lawyer. No, not really, I replied, but "have you heard the one
about the lawyer, the doctor, and the pope.....".
